The Islamic Medical Association of Nigeria (IMAN), Gombe State Chapter, has held its 2025 Annual General Meeting (AGM), during which the outgoing chairman, Muhammad Nasir Ishaq, reviewed major milestones recorded during his tenure.
Nasir said they leave tremendous achievement during their six tenure in office, stated this during thee 2025 AGM meeting held on December 28, 2025.
He expressed gratitude to Allah for the opportunity to serve the association from January 2020 to December 2025, and commended members of the Executive Council and the general membership for their support and cooperation throughout his leadership.
Explain that his administration assumed office at a challenging time marked by the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic, noting that IMAN faced issues such as a fragile economic base, low visibility, and weak operational systems across unit branches.
According to him, the leadership responded by organising a strategic planning workshop that restructured the association’s operations and introduced four key thematic focus areas:public health literacy, organisational system strengthening, economic empowerment of members, and rapid-response emergency services.
Highlighting achievements under public health literacy, Ishaq said the initiative led to the creation of the Tasker Lafiya the YouTube Channel, which now serves as IMAN Gombe’s official digital archive and a platform for health education and media engagement.
He explained that the platform was designed to improve public awareness on health issues through shared medical experiences, noting that health education remains critical to disease prevention and community wellbeing.
While acknowledging that some initiatives did not fully achieve their intended outcomes, Ishaq said the administration laid a solid foundation for institutional growth and sustainability.
He concluded by seeking forgiveness for any shortcomings recorded during his tenure and expressed confidence that the incoming leadership would build on the gains achieved to further strengthen the association
In his remarks, the BOT chairman, Dr. Abubakar Yagi, said he is overwhelming by the out going excos that transform the union to greater high
He added that in thee last six years they did more than expectations and rebirth the association to stand firm on its feet.
