WHO, SPHCB, Igabi LGA Urge Parents to Support Polio Immunization

The Kaduna State Primary Healthcare Board (SPHCB), in collaboration with the World Health Organization (WHO), has commenced another round of polio immunization across the state.

The Chairman of Igabi Local Government Area, Honorable Sani Abdul, has called on parents to ensure that all children aged zero to five years receive the polio vaccine.

Speaking at the launch of the exercise in the local government, Hon. Sani emphasized that immunization remains an effective method to prevent the spread of the polio virus.

He reaffirmed his commitment to promoting health programs within his jurisdiction to safeguard the wellbeing of children and the community at large.

Mallamawan Zazzau, the traditional focal person for Igabi LGA, Alhaji Danjuma Mustapha Adamu, also addressed journalists, urging all stakeholders to ensure no child misses the vaccination.

He noted that the traditional institution strongly supports the polio eradication campaign and remains committed to this cause.

Alhaji Adamu expressed gratitude to the SPHCB and WHO for their sustained efforts in conducting regular immunization exercises. He emphasized that these efforts are crucial for protecting children from the debilitating effects of polio.

Youth leader Comrade Musa Abba commended the Journalists Initiative on Immunization Against Polio (JAP) for their innovative approach, including a local theater and roadshow staged during the campaign.
