Women are in forefront of Nigeria’s development – NCWS Coordinator

Women in Nigeria have been at the forefront of the country’s development due to their high population.
The National Coordinator of the National Council of Women Society (NCWS), Hajiya Lami Adamu Lalu, made the disclosure in Gombe shortly after the election and inauguration of the State Chapter executives.
According to her, there’s no way women would be left behind in any effort aimed at seeing that the country succeeds because “they have a big number in terms of population”.
She gave some few instances of such positive impact to include the campaign by NCWS in many States against the deadly hepatitis B which has no free medication like HIV and AIDS.
Lalu called on the Gombe state Governor, Muhammad Inuwa Yahaya, to work with the Ministry of women affairs to screen and assist the patient of the dieses.
She promised to revive the NCWS in all the north eastern states and make them functional unlike it was in the past adding that, in Gombe State, there was no EXCO since 2016 until now that she came in.
In her remarks the wife of the Gombe state Governor, Asmau Inuwa Yahaya, commended the National Coordinator NCWS Lami Lalu, for her zeal to reviving the council in the state.
Asmau Inuwa Yahaya, said at least women has 75 per cent of the population and called on them to be united and use their number to bring more activities and development to the state and Nigeria at large.
In her speech, the Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Development, Asmau Muhammad Iganus, said the event was a culmination of an enormous collective effort which promotes the wellbeing of Gombe state women and encourage them to be self reliant as well.
She explained that the mission and goals of NCWS includes among others, to Improve the Welfare, progress and standard of living of women In Gombe and to increase the role of women in affecting political life through access to decision making.
Asmau Iganus, who is the Uwar Soron Shongom, Azurfar Dukul, added other aims of NCWS to include ensuring thorough legal and political ways of addressing the problems of women in their communities for their growth and development.
She thanked the leadership of the National Council for women society for their support to women in Gombe State and taking their time to honor the invitation in coming to state chapter.
She also thanked the Gombe State Governor, Muhammad Inuwa Yahaya and his wife, Asmau Inuwa Yahaya, for supporting Gombe state women in various aspect of life.
In her acceptance speech the newly elected Chairperson, Hauwa Adamu Saraki, vowed do everything humanly possible In uniting the women of Gombe State through thier platforms.
She commend the National Coordinator, the wife of the Governor and the Honorable Commissioner, Women Affairs Asmau Iganus, for Thier support to the success of the conversation and inauguration.
