YCSCD, FUD Empower 350 Women with Acquisition Skills in Jigawa State

Youth and Civil Society Coalition Development, in collaboration with Federal University Dutse (FUD) and Nigeria Television Authority (NTA), have initiated a training program benefiting over 350 women in Jigawa State.

The program, launched on Monday, focuses on imparting diverse skills to create employment opportunities and alleviate poverty among the youth in the state.

Jigawa State Governor, Malam Umar Namadi, commended the organizers for their efforts, emphasizing that such initiatives complement the state government’s commitment to youth and women empowerment.

The governor, represented by the Executive Secretary of the State Directorate for Empowerment, Dr. Habeeb Ubale highlighted that empowering youth and women aligns with his 12-point agenda, promoting self-reliance and fostering a resilient economy for a greater Jigawa.

“We have already renovated and equipped six major skill acquisition centers in the state. Many youth and women are already receiving various skills training. We are ready to partner with any group or individual interested,” noted the governor.

Professor Abdulkarim Sabo, the Vice Chancellor of Federal University Dutse, expressed appreciation for the collaboration and stressed the significance of training women for societal development.

He urged the state government to provide a startup package for the trained women, aligning with the governor’s 12-point agenda.

Dutse Local Government Chairman, Hon Bala Chamo, underscored the importance of training and supporting women for social and economic security, peace, and progress in society.

He commended the timely and commendable nature of the training, expressing hope for its sustainability.

Comrade Aminu Aminu Sa’id, the National President of YCSCD, stated that the training aims to enhance women’s productivity and gender participation in national development.

The collaborative effort seeks to empower women with valuable skills, contributing to their economic independence and societal progress.
