Yobe: Buni assures completion of ongoing projects in New Year

Yobe State Governor, Mai Mala Buni, has assured residents that all ongoing projects in the state will be completed in 2025, emphasizing his administration’s commitment to fulfilling its promises to the people.

In his New Year message to the people of Yobe, Governor Buni expressed gratitude for witnessing the peaceful transition into 2025 and reflected on the state’s achievements in 2024, despite facing challenges such as flooding and isolated security issues.

“It is with gratitude to Allah that today, we witness the beginning of yet another year,” Governor Buni said in a statement signed by the Director-General of Press and Media Affairs, Mamman Mohammed.

The governor highlighted key achievements in the previous year, particularly in agriculture, which according to the statement saw the launch of a massive program aimed at achieving food sufficiency and security.

Other successes included financial support for small and medium-scale entrepreneurs, cash grants to create employment opportunities, and ongoing infrastructure developments in healthcare, education, and roads.

“Our commitment to infrastructural development and service delivery has remained solid with the ongoing road construction, healthcare, and education development among others,” he added.

Governor Buni further assured the people of Yobe that 2025 will bring the completion of these ongoing projects, as well as the initiation of new ones.

“We signed the 2025 budget a few days ago. The government would swing into action to complete the projects for the benefit of our people,” he said.

In his message, Governor Buni also commended the residents for their resilience and support throughout the previous year, acknowledging that their faith in the government had contributed to the peaceful atmosphere in the state.

He reiterated his administration’s support for the security forces and urged residents to continue cooperating with both the government and security agencies.
