From Hamisu Ado, Nguru

In a decisive move to address the out-of-school children menace and improve learning outcomes in Yobe State, the Education Technical Committee has outlined a comprehensive plan to ensure the growth and development of the next generation.

The Committee’s commitment was reaffirmed during the State Education Council meeting held in Damaturu, bringing together key stakeholders within the education sector.

Dr. Muhammad Sani Idris, Commissioner for Basic and Secondary Education, emphasized Governor Mai Mala Buni’s unwavering dedication to tackling educational challenges and ensuring that all children have access to quality education.

“Governor Buni’s administration is committed to addressing the challenges of out-of-school children, improving learning outcomes, and ensuring the growth and development of our upcoming generation,” Dr. Idris stated.

He issued a stern warning to all executive secretaries of agencies and the 17 education secretaries of Local Education Authorities (LEA) under the Ministry, urging them to fulfill their responsibilities diligently.

“As a matter of urgency, all executive secretaries of agencies and the 17 education secretaries of LEAs should sit up to their responsibilities,” Dr. Idris asserted.

He assured the stakeholders that the State Government would provide an enabling environment for the Education Secretaries to effectively carry out their duties.

Hon. Mohammed Lamin, Special Adviser on Basic and Secondary Education to Governor Mai Mala Buni, echoed the Commissioner’s message, emphasizing the administration’s zero tolerance for complacency.

“The current administration in the state will not tolerate incompetent Education Secretaries who fail to perform their duties,” Hon. Lamin declared.
