Yobe Emergency Agency Offers Condolences, Support After FUGA Fire

The Yobe State Emergency Management Agency (YOSEMA), on behalf of the state government, extends its deepest condolences to the management, staff, and students of the Federal University Gashua (FUGA) following the tragic fire incident on March 23rd, 2024.
A team from YOSEMA’s Bade and Jakusko Local Government Areas promptly visited the scene to assess the damage and casualties.
The fire tragically claimed the life of one female student and completely destroyed 29 rooms.
Sadly, 301 students were affected, and three are currently receiving treatment for injuries.
The Yobe State Government will reach out to FUGA’s management and offer support in the university’s recovery efforts.
