Yobe Empowerment: President Tinubu Launches Multi-Billion Naira Agricultural Scheme

President Ahmed Bola Tinubu launched a multi-billion Naira agricultural empowerment scheme in Yobe State, benefiting farmers across its 178 electoral wards.
Represented by Vice President Senator Kashim Shettima, the President emphasized the importance of agriculture for food security and economic growth.
Governor Mai Mala Buni announced that the initiative will support 5,340 farmers, providing equipment and inputs free of charge, except for tractors and fertilizer.
The program aims to enhance agricultural productivity and value chain development in the state.
Efforts include the revival of the Lava Irrigation Scheme and the establishment of Sesame seed processing factories.
Additionally, the state government is rehabilitating Agricultural Development Programme offices and utilizing the Damaturu International Cargo Airport for agricultural exports.
The Governor stressed measures to prevent abuse of the provided machinery and warned against any acts of sabotage. He urged residents to embrace agriculture for food security and economic development, highlighting the importance of maintaining peace for continued progress.
