Yobe Governor Attends Funeral Prayer of Late SIEC Chairman, Dr. Mamman

Yobe State Governor, Mai Mala Buni, on Tuesday, attended the funeral prayer of Dr. Mamman Muhammad, the former Chairman of the Yobe State Independent Electoral Commission (SIEC).

The funeral prayer, led by the Chief Imam of Fika Emirate, Mallam Laminu Goni Babaji, was attended by thousands of sympathizers who gathered to pay their final respects.

Late Dr. Mamman passed away on Monday evening at the University Teaching Hospital, Damaturu, after a brief illness. He was aged 76 and is survived by three wives and thirty-three children.

Governor Buni, represented by his Deputy, Hon. Idi Barde Gubana, on behalf of himself and the government of Yobe State, extended condolences to the immediate family of the deceased.

He expressed deep sympathy, praying for the repose of Dr. Mamman’s soul and for Allah to grant the family the strength to bear the loss. He also prayed for Allah to grant the deceased Aljannatul Firdausi.

Hon. Idi Barde described the late Dr. Mamman as an honest, dedicated, generous, and humble medical doctor who served the state selflessly in various capacities. He noted that as former SIEC Chairman, Dr. Mamman was credited with organizing a credible local government election in the state.

Other prominent personalities who attended the funeral included the Secretary to the State Government, Alhaji Baba Malam Wali; the State APC Treasurer; members of the State House of Assembly; commissioners; special advisers; chief executives of boards and parastatals; local government chairmen; and several politicians, among others.
