From Sani Gazas Chinade, Damaturu
Comrade Mukhtar Tarbutu, the Chairman of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) in Yobe State, has urged members and affiliated unions to offer prayers for the safe release of the National President, Comrade Joe Ajaero.
Ajaero was recently summoned by the Nigerian Police Force, prompting the NLC to mobilize members nationwide in solidarity.
In Yobe State, however, the union opted for a spiritual approach, organizing prayers for Ajaero’s well-being. Tarbutu expressed unwavering belief in Allah’s intervention and expressed confidence in Ajaero’s safety.
Beyond the prayers, Tarbutu also announced the completion of a technical committee tasked with reviewing the implementation of the N70,000 minimum wage in Yobe State.
The committee’s recommendations have been submitted to the state government, and Tarbutu expressed hope for constructive engagement on this critical issue.
The chairman commended the committee’s efforts and emphasized the importance of ensuring that workers receive their rightful wages.
