Yobe Set To Receive President Tinubu For Launch Of Multi-billion Mega Agricultural Empowerment

The Yobe State Governor,  Mai Mala Buni and the people of the State is making a necessary arrangement to receive the President and Commander in Chief of the Armed Forces of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Bola Ahmed Tinubu in Damaturu for the flag-off of the Multi-billion naira Mega Agricultural empowerment.

The Commissioner Yobe State Ministry of Home Affairs, Information and Culture, Abdullahi Bego who is also the Chairman Publicity Committee for the Presidential visit stated this to newsmen at the state NUJ Secretariat that arrangements have been concluded for the visitor and his team tomorrow Saturday respectively.

Abdullahi Bego said that, the President during the working visit will flag off the multi-billion naira Mega Agricultural empowerment “for the very first time in the history of the state, farmers will benefit directly from the empowerment”.

The Commissioner explained that the empowerment is part of Governor Mai Mala Buni’s determination to improve the production yield in the state via the use of modern farm machinery.

According to him the objectives of the project, it will improve food security in the state and County at large.

He expressed the government’s readiness to receive the President. Adding that “We are very well prepared to receive Mr. President and his entourage as scheduled insha Allah.”

The Commissioner further reiterated the Governor’s commitment towards making Yobe State fully an Agricultural hub of the Nation and called for the support of Yobeans towards the realization of these set goals. “It is going to be a successful and peaceful event by the grace of God”.

In separate remarks, the Chairman of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Rajab Ismail Mohammed described the developmental initiative of Governor Buni as unprecedented and transformative, adding that the ongoing infrastructural and agricultural projects in Yobe State revealed the commitment of the present administration to the development of the State at large.

Mohammed who lauded the commitment of the State Governor to people-oriented projects noted that the decision to empower the farmers speaks volumes about the administration in the State in improving the livelihood of the citizens.
