Yobe South Youth Forum Pledges Loyalty to APC Representatives

From Sani Gazas Chinade, Damaturu

The Yobe South APC Stakeholders Forum has reaffirmed its unwavering support and loyalty to the region’s elected representatives in both the National and State Assemblies.

Armaya’u Suleiman, the coordinator of the forum, expressed their collective resolve during a recent meeting, stating, “We are compelled to speak out due to the actions of some unpatriotic individuals who have called for the recall of our dear and progressive elected representatives in the Yobe South Senatorial District. This is completely unacceptable to us, and we believe it is a sponsored move aimed at distracting the APC-led administration in the state.”

Since Governor Mai Mala Buni assumed office, Yobe State has witnessed significant social and infrastructural development, as well as increased youth engagement in governance, Suleiman noted.

The forum specifically addressed the agitation for the recall of Senator Ibrahim Mohammed Bomai, Hon. Fatima Talba, and Hon. Ahmed Adamu BBK, describing it as the work of “enemies of development” within the Yobe South Senatorial District, which comprises Fune, Fika, Nangere, and Potiskum Local Government Areas.

The forum emphasized that the region has never seen such levels of development under its current elected representatives since 1999.

Highlighting the achievements of Senator Ibrahim Mohammed Bomai, the forum listed numerous projects facilitated by the senator across Yobe South.

These include the construction of 23 roads and drainage systems, the provision of ICT centers in public schools, the installation of street lights, improvements in water supply, the establishment of an orphanage home, youth empowerment initiatives, skills training programs, employment opportunities, and the distribution of foodstuffs and cars to constituents. These projects, they said, are spread across all four local government areas of the senatorial district.

The forum also praised the efforts of Hon. Fatima Talba, representing the Nangere/Potiskum Federal Constituency, for her role in promoting unity among constituents and providing critical support to women’s groups.

Among her other contributions are the installation of solar-powered boreholes, street lights, and the facilitation of monthly payments of N50,000 to 1,500 constituents through the Small and Medium Enterprises Development Agency of Nigeria (SMEDAN).

Similarly, the forum commended Hon. Ahmed Adamu BBK, the member representing the Potiskum Central Constituency, for initiating projects that have positively impacted lives and brought a new wave of governance to the state.

The forum highlighted his efforts in supporting the education of over 300 adolescent girls at the vocational training center in Potiskum, his work in eradicating mosquito infestations, connecting communities to the national grid, and his ongoing provision of palliatives and empowerment programs for vulnerable people.

The forum also acknowledged his contributions to improving infrastructure, such as the provision of boreholes, transformers, and electric poles, as well as his efforts in addressing insecurity through the installation of solar street lights and the payment of stipends to cemetery guards.

Additionally, Hon. Adamu BBK was recognized for his consistent engagement with constituents and his active role as Chairman of the Sports Committee.

In conclusion, the forum passed a vote of confidence in Governor Mai Mala Buni, Senator Ibrahim Mohammed Bomai, Hon. Fatima Talba, and Hon. Ahmed Adamu BBK, reaffirming their commitment to supporting these leaders as they continue to serve the people of Yobe South.
