Yobe SSG Leads Advance Team to Morocco for Strategic Partnership

An advance team from Yobe State led by the Secretary to the State Government, Baba Malam Wali has arrived in Morocco ahead of planned partnerships in education, agriculture, and local government investment with Government of the Country.

In a press statement, Mamman Mohammed, Director General of Press and Media Affairs to the Governor, announced that His Excellency, the Executive Governor of Yobe State, Hon. Mai Mala Buni, who is leading the state delegation, is expected to arrive in Morocco later.

The partnership aims to explore investment opportunities within the state, focusing on employment generation and wealth creation.

Agriculture remains a priority for the Buni administration, playing a key role in economic recovery, particularly among returnee communities. Last year, the Yobe State government launched a large-scale agricultural empowerment program, providing over 100 tractors, hand tillers, harvesters, sprayers, fertilizers, and other essential farming implements.

Similarly, the government has declared a state of emergency in the education sector, prioritizing improvements and reforms. The partnership with the Moroccan government is expected to enhance entrepreneurial education in schools across the state.

Mustapha Ali Goniri; Commissioner for Higher Education, Prof. Bello Kawuwa; Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Hon. Ibrahim Adamu Jajere; Chairman of Damaturu Local Government, Hon. Bukar Adamu; Dr. Salim Umar Muhammad; and Mamman Mohammed.
