Yobe State Set to Boost Healthcare Sector in 2025

From Sani Gazas Chinade, Damaturu

The Yobe State Primary Healthcare Board, led by Executive Secretary Dr. Babagana Kundi-Machina, is gearing up to take the state’s health sector to the next level.

Dr. Kundi-Machina emphasized the importance of harmonizing the Annual Operational Plan (AOP) for 2025, focusing on key priorities set by the sector at a 5-day workshop in Kano

He explained that the workshop aims to build on earlier efforts, where state agencies were tasked with introspection. Aligning with the federal government’s strategic blueprint, Yobe State has identified its unique priorities and developed initiatives for 2025.

Dr. Kundi-Machina urged participants to engage fully and contribute meaningfully to maximize benefits for the state.

Mr. Isa Bukar, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Health, who is representing the Commissioner, Dr Lawan Gana, expressed optimism about the workshop’s outcome.

He noted that the AOP will serve as a guide to prevent overlapping among agencies and partners during project execution.
