Yola-Based Online Medium, TG News, to Honor Former SGF, Gov. Fintiri, 18 Others

TG News, a prominent Yola-based online news outlet under the Tom Garba Organization, is set to host its inaugural Merit and Productivity Award Ceremony in Adamawa State.
During a press conference held on Tuesday in Yola, Mohammed Ismail, Chairman of the publicity subcommittee, revealed that TG News aimed to fulfill its corporate social responsibilities by recognizing and rewarding excellence among various individuals and stakeholders in the state. These contributors have significantly impacted the societal growth and development.
Ismail emphasized that the event scheduled for January 6th, 2024, seeks to acknowledge and reward merit, excellence, talent, dedication, and exceptional service delivery. The goal is to inspire all members of society to strive for excellence, knowing that their achievements will be acknowledged and appreciated.
“The inaugural TG News Merit and Productivity Award is categorized into four distinct segments: Excellence in Leadership, Meritorious Service, Dedication and Quality Service, and Unsung Heroes Awards,” stated Ismail.
Among the recipients of the 2024 Excellence in Leadership award are Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri of Adamawa State, former Secretary to the Federal Government, Boss Mustapha, former Governor Muhammadu Umaru Jibrilla Bindow, and Hon. Aliyu Wakili Boya, the representative of Fufore/Song federal constituency in the House of Representatives.
The Meritorious Service awardees include prominent figures such as Archbishop Panti Philibus, Sheikh Nuruddeen Khalid, HRH Kurhaye Hassan Dishon Dansanda II, Kwandi Nunguraya, HRM Daniel Shaga Ismaila, Hama Bachama, HRH Umar Sanda, Gangwari Ganye, HRH Abubakar Isa Ahmadu (Emir of Mubi), and Alhaji Abubakar Murtala, Dan Lawan Mubi, and the district head of Belel.
Individuals recognized for Dedication and Quality Service comprise Rear Admiral Jamila Malafa (Rtd.), Prof. Umar Pate, Dr. Abdullahi Dauda Belel, Barr. Chafari Kanya Shadrack, Mal. Hamisu Idris Medugu, Hon. Hassan Mamman Barguma, Umar Dauda Duhu, and Stella Din-Jacobs,” added Ismail.
Additionally, Ismail highlighted the Unsung Heroes Awards, which will honor Ardo Usman, a shoe cobbler, and a groundnut seller, Celina Peter. These individuals have showcased remarkable resilience and determination in the face of socio-economic challenges in Nigeria.
“The acknowledgment of our unsung heroes by TG News signifies their resilience and determination, despite the harsh socio-economic conditions prevalent in our society,” Ismail emphasized.
He reiterated the importance of celebrating individuals like Ardo Usman and Celina Peter, highlighting their resilience in an environment where many resort to begging or criminal activities for survival. Their dedication to self-improvement and contribution to society serves as an inspiration and deserves appreciation.
