Youth Games: Kano State Commissioner of Youth and Sports Development urges athletes to make the state proud

The Kano State Commissioner for Youth and Sports Development, Honourable Mustapha Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, has charged the state athletes taking part in the 9th edition of the National Youth Games (NYG) in Asaba, Delta State, to make the state proud and be law-abiding.

He gave the charge to the athletes during an interview with the newsmen at the Stephen Keshi Stadium in Asaba when the screening exercise of the athletes was taking place, urging them to be good ambassadors of the state and compete cleanly and fairly as the Games open tomorrow, Friday.

Also, the Commissioner Mustapha Kwankwaso thanked Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf for his unrelenting support for youth and sports development in the state, as well as approved the airlift of Kano State Athletes contingents to Delta State to attend this year’s NYG.

A total of 89 Kano State athletes, male and female, have been screened in front of the commissioner.

The Acting Chairman of the Kano State Sports Commission, Alhaji Ibrahim Umar Fagge, in his response, thanked Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf for his unrelenting support of youth and sports development and also the Commissioner for being with the athletes since day one.
