YOWICAN Lauds Tinubu, Gov Namadi For Christmas Gifts

The Jigawa state chapter of Youth Wing of Christians Association of Nigeria (YOWICAN) commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Jigawa state governor Malam Umar Namadi for the donations given to Jigawa Christians in this festive season.

The commendation was made by the Jigawa YOWICAN chairman Stephen Bashiru Oladije shortly after the distribution of 600 hundreds bags of rice to the Christians in the state.

Speaking at the distribution points held in Chatholic Church in Dutse, the chairman JIgawa state chapter of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Rev. Father Morris Collins Hassan, said the donations is from the president Bola Ahmed Tinibu through Jigawa governor Malam Umar Namadi to the christians fellowship for the Christmas celebration.

He said, the palliative came through the JIgawa state government, “JIgawa state commissoner for special duties called us in the instance of his excellency governor, Malam Umar Namadi an we received 594 pieces of 25kg bags of Rice as some of the bags turns as palliative for christmas”.

Rev. Father Morris Collins Hassan “as you can see, we brought it here and now sharing to all christians in JIgawa state”.

According to him, the commodity would be shared to all christians across the 27 local government areas of the state through the CAN coordinators or representatives whom were to collated and go to share it at their local government level on their choose and agreed formula.

The CAN chairman maintained that “the items distributed equal among the 27 local government areas. We shared everything equally. We at the state level executives were not suggesting any of the sharing formula to any of the five blocks that formed the association (CAN).

“we encourage them to try be fairness and equity as the case may be, Let them to gives emphasis on the less previllages especially the widows and orphans as we told them in our meeting” he said.

The Rev. Father expressed gratitude to the president Bola Ahmed Tinibu and JIgawa state governor Malam Umar Namadi for the gesture and timely consideration.

Rev Father Hassan noted that “we really appreciate the president and the governor as this is the first of it kind. It was never happened before until now, we are happy”.

Also speaking the state secretary for the JIgawa state’s CAN women’s wing, Mrs Debora Maina Markus commended president Bola Ahmed Tinibu for the palliative at the two festivities.

Madam Debora Maina said “we are going give special consideration to widows and orphans in disbursing our share”.
