Zamfara APC, PDP in trade of blames over attack on Defense Minister’s house

The Zamfara State All Progressives Congress (APC) has initially fingerpointed at the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for being brain behind attacks on it’s leaders and the house of State Minister of Defense, hon. Bello Mohammed Matawalle in Gusau the state capital.
In a press conference organized by the State Chairman of the APC, Tukur Umar Danfulani and represented by the State Secretary, Ibrahim Umar Birnin Magaji, the State Publicity Secretary, Malam Yusuf Idris, cried that, the house of the State Minister of Defense, Bello Matawalle would have been razed ablaze by the alleged thugs been sponsored by the PDP in the name of nationwide protest.
Malam Yusuf, noted that, with the quick intervention by the former Governor of the State, Senator Abdulaziz Yari Abubakar just a day to protest, all members of the APC and the other teeming nonpolitical groups of youths in the State had abandoned the idea of trooping into streets to join the planned protest.
“We have every formidable evidences that, all nonpolitical organizations operating in Zamfara State have made declaration even in written and signed for not joining the protest for amount of respect they have for Senator Yari, and of course, all APC youths had remained indoors while others opted for their normal businesses.
“But unfortunately, the PDP, being they had a filthy plan to launch attacks on the APC leaders and their properties, they sponsored their political thugs who fiercely swung into destructions of houses belonging to APC leaders and looted properties worth millions of naira.
“It was during this unlawful moves which they were assigned, they had done all their best to gain access into the house of the State Minister of Defense in Gusau with the mission to loot and set ablaze, only such to be prevented by the team of security personnel who struggled harder to denied them access.
In a swift reaction, the Zamfara State Acting Chairman of the PDP, hon. Mukhtar Mohammed Lugga, dismissed the allegations, saying, the PDP youths are law-abiding, therefore could never be allowed to be used to commit any act of crime especially which involved an attempt to destroy the house of the State Minister of Defense.
“We believe, this is an empty allegation labelled against the youths of the PDP, and this is even an insult on the APC, the Minister is there very busy doing his best to ensure the safety of lives and properties of the entire good citizens of Nigeria at large but not Zamfara just a one state out of 36.
“We at the party level, we beg the leaders of the APC in Zamfara State to for the sake of achieving the drafted plans against the security challenges across the nation by the federal government through the noble office of the Defense Minister, to allow Mr. President and the Minister to focus on their primary duties for the benefit of the country”, hon. Lugga has pleaded.
