Zamfara Lawmakers Condemn Movement For Peace Accord With Bandits

Zamfara Assembly has in totality condemned what it described as purported plan to demoralize Zamfara government efforts of addressing security challenges by some people in the name of peace accord for their own political interest.

The Assembly has debated and criticized purported plans by some unpatriotic people who are currently going round some parts of the state trying to cause obstacles to the efforts embarked upon by the present Dauda Lawal-led administration of addressing security challenges that bedeviled the state.

This followed a Notice of Public Importance (NPI) been presented by the Majority Whip, and member representing Anka, Honourable Rilwanu Marafa Nagambo.

Honourable Nagambo, explained that reports reaching them indicated that some unpatriotic people are going round the state particularly areas that are most hit by the lingering security challenges where they are negotiating with bandits in the name of peace accord aimed at achieving their political goals.

He called on the honourable house to immediately draw the attention of both the state and federal governments as well as relevant security agencies to take serious action against such a group of people for their negotiating with bandits in the state.

In their separate contributions during the sitting, honorable members have totally condemned such attitude describing it as sabotage to the administration of Dauda Lawal’s effort of addressing insecurity affecting the state.

They added that they are fully supporting the state Governor Dauda Lawal’s steps towards rejecting any negotiation with bandits whose nasty activities made legitimate living difficult in the state.

According to the Honourable members, such people are also claiming that they were assigned by the federal government with the mission to negotiate with bandits which is untrue and unacceptable by the entire people of the state.

Later the Speaker R t Honourable Bi’yaminu Ismail Moriki, said the house has unanimously resolved to condemned the purported plans by some unpatriotic people who are trying to cause problem for Zamfara state government in the area of addressing insecurity in the name of peace accord for their political interest.

The Speaker, said the house has decided to draw the attention of both the state and federal governments as well as other security agencies to immediately take measures against such unpatriotic politicians.
