Zamfara LG Elections: Gov. Lawal cast vote, calls for peaceful election

Governor Dauda Lawal of Zamfara State has cast his vote alongside his wife Huriyya Dauda Lawal at Women Centre polling unit in Gusau the state capital.
Responding to questions shortly after his vote, Governor Dauda, said the turn out for the local government election was impressive and hopeful.
He called on electorates to conduct themselves peacefully as all arrangements by the state government in collaboration with security agencies were in place for the needed safety.
Governor Dauda further warned against any form of political campaign at any polling unit across the 14 local government areas of the state, adding that, ”No any other political activity would be tolerated by the security personnel apart from voting at polling units”.
”So far, I am satisfied with the manner electorates are conducting themselves which is a clear sign that democracy is fast progressing, people have been made to understand the importance of taking their time to cast votes for their own choices.
”Again, I am also very happy with the reports that the election is currently going on peacefully across the state, I must sincerely commend the opposition parties for ensuring political tolerance during the ongoing local government election”, Governor Dauda has said.
