Zamfara: No threat can stop my victory in the rerun election, Gov Lawal tells opposition

Zamfara State Governor Dauda Lawal has assured that opposition party in the state would no longer be seen as a threat that can bar him from winning the forth coming rerun election.

Governor Dauda said no amount of political propaganda would derail him from executing more developmental projects that have direct impact on common man in the state, saying Allah has chosen him as Governor, “God’s willing I will remain as Governor no matter the opposition and hypocrisy.

It could be recalled that Appeal Court has cancelled the Governorship election in Zamfara state and ordered for the rerun election in three local government areas of the state.

Addressing hundreds of supporters of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) at the secretariat of the party in Gusau while celebrating his return to the state from an official trip, Governor Lawal has affirmed his readiness for the rerun election.

He called on the teeming supporters and the law abiding members of the PDP across the state to remain calm before, during and after the rerun election with a view to ensure victory for him and the party.

“Even if the election will hold now or tomorrow, I will by the grace of Almighty God emerge the winner, no cause for alarm.

“Allah has chosen me as Governor of Zamfara State, therefore by his willing, I will still emerge same to continue to provide the state with its immediate demands.

Governor Lawal further stressed that members of the opposition were not happy with the development brought to the state, like settling all entitlements of the civil servants, as well as WAEC and NECO fees which the opposition had failed to amongst many other welcome developments been witnessed under my just 5 months old administration”.
