Zamfara NSCDC commemorates International Day of Peace 2024

The Zamfara State Command has celebrated the day’s event with a walk of peace and a public enlightenment to strengthen the importance of peace-building in the State.
The Commandant, Sani Mustapha in his address, glorified God the Most High who made it possible to witness yet another International Day of Peace which was deemed imperative by the United Nation General Assembly (UNGA) to be celebrated globally every 21st of September, annually.
He noted that, 2024 International Day of Peace is themed: “CULTIVATING THE CULTURE OF PEACE” which simply means developing peace as a habit or a way of life, insisting it is fundamental to live and co-exist peacefully to sustain humanity.
The Commandant further stated that, Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) is a primary stakeholder in ensuring and promoting continuous peace in Nigeria and in view of this the Corps is mandated to devise an Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) to co-opt peace through establishing the Corps’ Core Mandates of securing lives and properties of the civil populace.
Educating the natives, the State Commandant briefly explained that, Alternative Dispute Resolution and Peace-building as a process of mediating, reconciling and/or resolving disputes between industrial partnerships, relationships and workplaces by proffering a voluntary and/or consensual agreements between involved parties as opposed to being compelled or decided by authorities.
He also proclaimed that, NSCDC is ready to resolve all cases of disputes outrightly by rekindling mutual trust while maintaining International best practices and professionalism in its service delivery.
He urged citizens to foster love and build peace wherever they find themselves, emphasising TOGETHER, we shall cultivate the culture of peace and ensure Zamfara State survive the current security challenges and return to being an emblem of peace in the Nigeria.
