Zamfara: ZAROTA to train personnel on professionalism

From Ibrahim Kaulahi, Gusau

Zamfara State Road Transport Agency (ZAROTA) has concluded arrangements aimed at training and retraining of it’s teeming personnel controlling traffic across the state to operate strictly according to the laws that established the agency.

This was declared by the State Commandant of the agency, Muhammad Bello Musa while briefing Journalists in his office in Gusau, Zamfara State capital.

Commandant Musa, said his nine months old leadership of the agency has appeared absolutely contrary from the knowledge the teeming personnel have acquired in terms of rendering the needed services and operations as established by the laws.

He lamented that, the personnel were only misled by the previous administration as not a single law guiding the activities of the agency was put into consideration but rather converted to operate as political tool against opposition parties.

“The aims of establishing the agency were to among other reasons, sanitize the reckless driving by the road users through inculcation of rules of using the roads and the same time to serve as revenue generating workroom for the state.

“With my appointment as the third Commandant by the present Dauda Lawal-led administration, I was directed to operate the Command as guided by the law, thereby given the target to generate N100 million naira which by now, I had even performed better expectations.

“As for the personnel of the Command, they are gradually changing to the reality as against previous times, they are now operating as according to the law, therefore, I urge the teeming populace of the state especially road users to keep being patient”, Commandant Bello has urged.
