Zenith Bank Awards N15 Million to Yobe Students for Winning Global English Competition in London

The Zenith Bank PLC presented a total of N15 million to three female students from Nigerian Tulip International Colleges (NTIC) for their outstanding victory at the 2025 World Teen Eagle Global English Finals in London.
The three awardees, Hadiza Kashim Kalli (Gold Medalist, Outstanding Talent Award),Nafisa Abdullahi Aminu (Overall Best in English Language Skills), and Rukayyah Muhammad Fema (Overall Best in Debate), each received N5 million in recognition of their exceptional achievement.
The Managing Director of Zenith Bank Group,Dr. Adaora Umeoji, represented by the Bank’s Managing Director for the Northern Region, Abubakar Goronyo, commended the students during the presentation.He described their success as a triumph not just for NTIC or Nigeria, but for the entire black race globally.
“We are truly pleased with the recent achievement of this great institution.Your visit today is not just a recognition of their achievements; it is a powerful encouragement to many young people across Northern Nigeria and the nation at large,”stated Goronyo
He announced that the award was facilitated on the directive of the Group Managing Director, in conjunction with the Arewa Consultative Forum (ACF) and REFIA, as a demonstration of the bank’s commitment to education and youth development.
In his remarks,the Principal of NTIC, Mr. Shahbaz Malik, expressed profound gratitude to Zenith Bank for its support. He attributed the school’s consistent academic excellence to its philosophy and rigorous system.
“Our school believes that what is taught with love lasts forever.For academic excellence, we rely on our rigorous system of classes and lectures, which prepares our students to excel,”Malik said
Speaking on behalf of the award recipients, student Nafisa Abdullahi Aminu thanked the bank for the honor. She called on other Northern State governors to emulate the educational policies of Yobe State under Governor Mai Mala Buni, noting the government’s significant investment in students.
“The success recorded is a testament to what is possible when students are supported.We are truly humbled and inspired by this recognition,”said Aminu.
The event highlighted the growing partnership between corporate organizations and educational institutions in fostering academic talent within the region.
