Kano State Ministry of Education has Approved Sunday 10th September, 2023 as the resumption date for all Boarding Public/Private Primary and Post Primary Schools in the State for the commencement of 2023/2024 first term academic session.
Similarly, Pupils and Students in Day schools are to resume on Monday 11th September 2023 respectively.
A statement signed by the Director Public Enlightenment of the Ministry Balarabe Abdullahi Kiru, says the Ministry enjoins Parents/ Guardians of Students to take note of the stipulated resumption date to ensure total compliance.
It however, warned that appropriate Disciplinary Action would be taken against defaulting Students/Pupils.
While expressing appreciation to the usual cooperation and support given to the ministry, the statement explained that arrangements had been completed to provide enough teachers and learning materials to all Primary and Post Primary Schools in the state.
According to the statement, the state is taking serious measures to bring all the possible changes towards improving both the Primary and Secondary Education System of the state.
“It has come to our notice that most of the Zonal Offices are filled up with staff who are supposed to teach in the classrooms. So, as from now, no Zonal office under any agency should have more than 22 staff while the remaining staff are to be reposted to classrooms based on merit and profession ” it disclosed.
It also quoted the State Commissioner Umar Haruna Doguwa expressing the commitment of the present administration to promote teachers’ welfare, revealing that a Committee was set up by the Governor to address issues of teachers promotion and other entitlements to improve their working condition.
Umar Doguwa who wished both teachers, students and pupils for successful new academic session, announced that the Ministry had mapped out intensive monitoring system to ensure staff punctuality and efficiency.
