2023 National Agricultural Show: 3 Kano LGs Emerge Best
Three local government areas from Kano state, namely Kano Municipal, Dawakin Tofa, and Bagwai have emerged winners of first, second and third positions respectively in the just concluded National Agricultural Show held in Karu Nassarawa State.
Dahiru Lawan Kofar Wambai, Information Officer, Ministry for Local Governments and Chieftaincy Affairs disclosed the development in a statement issued to newsmen.
According to Lawan, the National Coordinator of National Agricultural Foundation of Nigeria( NAFN), a co-hosting organisation of the event, Mr. Samuel Ingandu, stated the results while presenting certificates and awards to participating local governments and the end of the event.
Receiving the awards on behalf of the Deputy Governor of Kano State and Commissioner for Local Governments and Chieftaincy Affairs, the Director of Agricultural Services, Alhaji Ibrahim Lawan expressed happiness for the feat saying it wasn’t accidental as local governments from Kano have taken the same positions for years hoping for more success in coming years.
He commended the state Governor, Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf through the Deputy Governor for throwing the state government’s weight behind the Agricultural Show yielding positive results and stimulating the local governments to put more effort.
The Chairman of the Forum of heads of Department of Agriculture, and the head of the same department at Kano Municipal local government, Alhaji Suleiman Isyaku Dakata said they will continue to be more committed in advancing agricultural activities in the state.
