2027: AURA-Kano Targets 1 Million Non-indigene Votes For Tinubu, Yusuf
By Abdullahi Yusuf
The APC United Residents Alliance, Kano (AURA-Kano) has launched a campaign to mobilise at least one million non-indigene votes for the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf in 2027.
The campaign was unveiled at a town hall meeting held at Hilton Palace, Kano, under the theme “Integration for Progress: Mobilising the Non-Indigene Votes for APC.”
Coordinator of AURA-Kano, Hon. Seyi Olorunsola, said the group aims to deliver a decisive voting bloc across Kano’s 44 local government areas.
Olorunsola identified Sabon-Gari, Noman’s Land, and Jaba as areas with dense settler-populations whose votes often influence election outcomes.
He cited the completion of New Road and the ongoing reconstruction of Zungeru Road and Sarkin Yaki Road in Sabon-Gari as evidence of Governor Yusuf’s performance.
He noted that the governor renamed Sarkin Yaki Road after First Lady Senator Oluremi Tinubu.
“No governor has done what Abba Yusuf is doing at the speed he is going. Tinubu, a detribalised democrat, is a promoter of unity, and his infrastructure drive also speaks for him,” Olorunsola said. “If he is not re-elected to complete these roads, it will distort investor confidence,” the coordinator added.
APC chieftains including former Governor Abdullahi Ganduje, Deputy Senate President Barau Jibrin, Presidential Aide Nasir Bala Aminu (Ja’oji), and Minister of State for Housing and Urban Development Yusuf Abdullahi Ata were represented at the event by APC Chairman, Kano North Central, Hon. Abubakar Inusa Kwawaji.
Immediate past CAN Chairman, Samuel Adeyemo, offered prayers and urged attendees not to transfer their voter cards back to their home states.
“Do not transfer your voter card to your village. It makes no sense. You do your business here. Come out and vote, bring your chairs so you don’t get tired,” Adeyemo said.
“Vote and stay here and be prayerful that Kano shall be well. From Baba Ganduje, Kano has been very peaceful, and Yusuf is sustaining that. Tinubu is revitalising the economy and constructing roads.”
Hafizu Sani Liman, Secretary of the City Boys Movement, Kano chapter, spoke on the group’s voting strength and urged members to obtain their PVCs.
Leaders of ethnic associations also pledged support. President of the Yoruba Community in Kano, Olajide Ogunleye, and President General of the Kano Igbo Community, Donatus Nwogu, said their communities were “100 percent” behind Tinubu and Yusuf.
State Coordinator of the City Boy Movement, Hon. Adamu Muktar Unguwar Gini, said his members were present to back AURA-Kano’s mobilisation drive.
Women Leader of CBM, Hajiya Ramlat Muhaymad Nasiru, said women were central to electoral success. “Under the Renewed Hope of Tinubu and Yusuf, women have not been left behind. Go to your homes and churches and tell others,” she urged.
AURA-Kano said it will extend the campaign across all the 44 Local Government Areas of the state, ahead of the 2027 general elections.
