By Abdullahi Yusuf
Some stakeholders in Dawakin Tofa,Rimin Gado and Tofa Federal Constituency in Kano State have rejected the selection of the incumbent member representing the area, Tijjani AbdulKadir Jobe, as the APC candidate for the House of Representatives in the 2027 general elections.
The stakeholders who are largely youths, staged a protest on Wednesday, said they are tired of Jobe’s “unproductive representation” and therefore called for his replacement.
Carrying placards which read among others:”Jobe Must Go,” and “We Are Tired Of Jobe’s Representation,” the protesters, therefore, urged Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf to replace Jobe “in the interest of justice and fair play.”
“For the 20 years he has represented us in Abuja,he has not brought any development to Dawakin Tofa,Tofa and Rimin Gado Federal Constituency,so, let the Governor change him.
“For all those unproductive years, the representative has not achieved anything for us,no motion,no bills and no empowerment. We need change now.
“We are, therefore, calling on the people’s Governor, Abba Kabir Yusuf,to change Tijjani AbdulKadir Jobe as the candidate for House of Representatives in the 2027 general elections in the interest of justice, fair play and the general well being of the people of the Dawakin Tofa, Rimin Gado and Tofa Federal Constituency,” they said.
“And this is the last call we are making for Jobe’s removal, and if he is not changed for the election,we the people of Dawakin Tofa, Rimin Gado and Tofa Federal Constituency, will do the needful when the election comes,” the stakeholders added.
