2027: Yobe G-6 Set For APC Governorship Primaries

Members of Yobe G-6, a group of governorship aspirants on the platform of the All Progressives Congress(APC) in Yobe State, have resolved to fully participate in the forthcoming Yobe State Governorship Primaries.
This is contained in a statement signed by members of the group namely:Senator Ibrahim Muhammed Bomai,Engr. Mustapha Yunusa Maihaja,
Hon. Bashir Sheriff Machina,
IGP Usman Alkali Baba (Rtd.), CFR and
Kashim Musa Tumsah, MFR.
In the statement, the aspirants resolved to partake in the primaries “in strict accordance with the provisions of the Electoral Act 2026, as well as the APC Rules and Guidelines governing
Direct Primaries.”
According to them, their decision followed an “extensive and fruitful meeting” held with Vice President Kashim Shettima regarding
the ongoing gubernatorial impasse in Yobe State.
“Following exhaustive deliberations and far-reaching consultations, the G-6 wishes to emphatically inform the good people of Yobe State and the general public that “The G-6 commends His Excellency, the Vice-President, for his tireless efforts, statesmanship and sincere commitment towards resolving the gubernatorial impasse in Yobe State.
“We particularly appreciate his unwavering dedication to democratic values, justice, fairness, and the unity and stability of Yobe State.
“The remaining members of the G-6, whose signatures appear below, have unanimously resolved to fully participate in the forthcoming Yobe State Governorship Primaries in strict accordance with
the provisions of the Electoral Act 2026, as well as the APC Rules and Guidelines governing Direct Primaries.
‘The G-6 hereby announces that one of its members, Alhaji Lawan Kolo Geidam, has voluntarily agreed to withdraw from the Yobe State gubernatorial race in the overall interest of peace, unity, and democratic progress. He has further pledged his total support for whoever emerges through
a transparent, credible, and fair primary election process.
“The G-6 calls on all supporters, stakeholders, party faithful, and the good people of Yobe State to remain calm, peaceful, law-abiding and united while continuing preparations for the gubernatorial primaries scheduled to hold on 23rd May, 2026.
“The G-6 assures all citizens of Yobe State and the general public that it will continue to provide timely updates and keep everyone fully informed on any further developments concerning the
gubernatorial primaries and related matters,” the aspirants added.
