2nd Entrepreneurship Summit: NAWOJ Kano Applauds ACF, KILAF for Sponsoring 50 Women in Media

The Nigeria Association of Women Journalists (NAWOJ), Kano State Chapter, has expressed deep appreciation to the Arewa Consultative Forum (ACF), Kano State Chapter, under the leadership of Gwani Farouk Umar, and the Kano Indigenous Language and Arts Festival (KILAF) for their generous sponsorship of 50 participants to the 2nd Entrepreneurship Summit for Women in Media.

The event was held at the Dangote Business School, Bayero University Kano (BUK) New Site, on Saturday, 8th November.

In a statement jointly signed by the Chairperson, Sayyida Bahijja Malam Kabara, and the Secretary, Comrade Maryam Muhammad Yakasai, NAWOJ Kano applauded ACF for their timely intervention and for recognizing the importance of empowering women journalists through entrepreneurial skills development.

The association noted that ACF’s sponsorship of the Kano Chapter of NAWOJ demonstrates their clear understanding and strong sense of responsibility toward promoting gender inclusion, professional advancement, and economic empowerment among women in the media industry.

Similarly, NAWOJ Kano commended Alhaji Abdulkareem Muhammad, Chief Executive Officer of KILAF, for organizing such a visionary and impactful initiative, which continues to provide a platform for journalists to expand their professional knowledge and explore innovative opportunities.

The summit featured renowned women journalists and media professionals, including Hajiya Fatima Dabo, Hajiya Sa’a Ibrahim, Halima Bn Umar, and Hajiya Halima Musa, as well as Comrade Wasila Ibrahim Ladan Nawoj National secretary who shared inspiring insights on how journalists can creatively use their skills and social media platforms to generate income and achieve financial independence.

Participants highlighted that one of the key lessons learned from the program was the importance of utilizing personal talents as journalists to earn through social media engagement and content creation from their respective locations.

NAWOJ Kano deeply appreciates the Arewa Consultative Forum and KILAF for their ongoing support and encouragement toward the growth of women in media.

The association assures that it will continue to foster professionalism, creativity, and entrepreneurship among its members across various platforms.
