The governorship candidate of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), Comrade Aminu Abdussalam Gwarzo, on Sunday paid a condolence visit to the family of veteran broadcaster Adamu Ibrahim Getso in Getso town, Gwarzo Local Government Area of Kano State.
Ibrahim Garba Shuaibu, Spokesperson to Comrade Gwarzo disclosed this in a statement issued this in a statement issues to newsmen on Sunday.
Gwarzo, represented by a high-powered delegation led by Malam Garba Sarki, expressed deep sympathy to the bereaved family and prayed for the repose of the deceased’s soul.
The delegation first visited the palace of the Village Head of Getso (San Getso), Alhaji Bello Ibrahim Getso, where family members, relatives and sympathisers had gathered to receive condolences following the death of the respected broadcaster.
Members of the delegation included representatives of the Comrade Gwarzo family, campaign directors, party leaders and supporters.
Speaking during the visit, Malam Sarki conveyed Gwarzo’s heartfelt condolences to the family and people of Getso, describing the late Adamu Getso as a distinguished broadcaster whose contributions to journalism and would be remembered for generations.
He prayed for Allah’s mercy on the deceased, asking that his shortcomings be forgiven, that he be granted Aljannatul Firdaus, and that his family be given the strength and patience to bear the loss.
In a related development, Gwarzo also visited the families of victims of a tragic road accident involving a wedding convoy travelling to Rano Local Government Area.
The accident claimed the lives of two married women from Kofar Arewa Quarters in Gwarzo town.
During the visit, the NDC governorship candidate expressed sadness over the tragedy, prayed for the eternal rest of the deceased and wished those injured a speedy recovery.
The affected families thanked Gwarzo and his representatives for standing with them during their difficult time and for offering prayers and support.
