The management praised the Adamawa State Government for the initiative, describing the scholarship programme as a strategic investment that is already yielding positive results.
According to the university authorities, the students have justified the government’s investment by excelling academically and projecting a positive image of both Adamawa State and Nigeria.
Speaking during the visit, Governor Fintiri expressed satisfaction with the students’ achievements and commended them for living up to expectations.
He said the beneficiaries were selected strictly on merit, stressing that the scholarship programme is designed to develop skilled manpower, empower young people, and strengthen the state’s professional workforce.
The governor also announced that arrangements have been concluded to sponsor another batch of 200 students to pursue master’s degree programmes in Australia and Canada under the same scheme.
Fintiri described education as a critical driver of sustainable development, noting that the overseas scholarship programme is aimed at equipping beneficiaries with global knowledge and expertise that will contribute to the state’s growth.
He urged the students to remain focused, maintain high academic standards, and continue to serve as worthy ambassadors of Adamawa State and Nigeria.
The overseas scholarship programme remains one of the flagship educational initiatives of the Fintiri administration, aimed at producing highly skilled professionals capable of driving innovation, economic growth, and sustainable development in Adamawa State.
