Adamawa Police Apprehend Four-Man Armed Robbery Syndicate, Recover Stolen Valuables

The Adamawa State Police have successfully captured a gang of four suspected armed robbers responsible for terrorizing residents in Adamawa state and its vicinity.

The arrest followed an armed robbery incident where Hon. Muhammed Sadiq Wali, the Commissioner of the Ministry of Environment, was attacked and robbed in his residence.

According to SP Suleiman Nguroje, the spokesperson for the command, the deadly armed robbery occurred in the early hours of Sunday at the commissioner’s residence on Chiroma Street in Yola.

The arrested suspects physically assaulted Hon. Muhammed Sadiq Wali at gunpoint, making off with his Toyota Hilux and other valuable items.

The police detectives attached to Girei Division swiftly acted on the incident, leading to the arrest of the four suspects.

The recovered items include a Toyota Hilux, Barreta Pistol, three live ammunition, two anti-trackers, five handsets, foreign currency, and various identification cards belonging to the commissioner.

The arrested suspects were identified as Mustapha Muhammed (47 years), a resident of Lelewalji, Girei Local Government; Isha Adamu (55 years), a resident of Tudun Wada, Sokoto State; Salihu Buhar (38 years), a resident of Garwa, Cameroon Republic; and Abdullahi Abubakar (35 years), also a resident of Garwa, Cameroon Republic.

In a press release, SP Suleiman Nguroje stated, “Interestingly, all the items stolen from the victim’s residence were recovered.”

The police spokesman urged the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities to the security agencies. He assured that the suspects would be prosecuted in accordance with the extant laws.
