AKCILS Flags Off 50th Anniversary With Islamic Jurisprudence, Security Engagements, Sports

The Aminu Kano College of Islamic and Legal Studies (AKCILS) has officially commenced series of activities marking its 50th Anniversary celebration with the view to commemorate its five decades of academic excellence and service to humanity.
Declaring the celebration open, the College Provost Prof. Balarabe Abubakar Jakada (Majidadin Kauran Katsina), expressed profound gratitude to Almighty Allah for granting the college community the opportunity to witness the historic milestone.
Jakada noted that the Golden Jubilee is not only a moment of sober reflection but also a time to celebrate the institution’s achievements and it’s contributions to Islamic, legal and teacher education.
The day’s activities commenced with Qur’anic recitation aimed at seeking the divine blessings for the success of the celebration.
This was followed by the Jurisprudence Day programme, which marked the first activity in the anniversary line-up.
This occassion feature a renowned Islamic scholars, including Prof. Umar Sani Fagge who delivered insightful lectures addressing contemporary issues on Islamic jurisprudence, thereby drawing other participation from scholars such as Sheikh Ibrahim Khalil, Sheikh Abdullahi Uwais Madabo, Dr. Umar Muhammad Kani,among other notable scholars who presented papers at the Occasion.
The college students and members of the wider academic community also graced the occassion.
The occasion also featured robust intellectual engagements which reaffirmed the College’s commitment to promoting knowledge, scholarship, and dialogue on matters of Islamic and legal importance.
During the evening session, a security summit themed: “Addressing Security Challenges in Kano Metropolis,”was organized to enable stakeholders to brainstorm towards addressing security challenges that are posing a threat especially to Kano metropolitan’s Councils.
The colourful summit brought together intellectuals, security experts, and heads of security agencies who presented papers including Dr.Hafizu Shehu Ringim,Major Umaru Abubakar (rtd),Comrade Muhammad Sani Garba who were able to outline the practical strategies in tackling the security challenges bedevilling the state.
Among the security experts were the representative of Kano State Commissioner of Police,Director DSS,NDLEA boss,Hisba and Attorney General, Kano State Commissioner of Justice amongst others.
The anniversary celebration will continue with Conference Day, culminating in the grand finale scheduled for Wednesday.
The occasion is expected to attract high-profile dignitaries, including the Executive Governor of Kano State, Engr.Abba Kabir Yusuf, Emir of Kano, and other distinguished personalities from across the country.
