AMG Foundation partners Kano State Bureau of Statistics, Kano Cancer Care Center to establish cancer registry

The Statistician General of Kano State Bureau of Statistics, Dr. Aliyu Isa Aliyu, paid a courtesy visit to the Coordinator of Kano State Cancer Center, Dr. Aminu Magashi Garba, to discuss the possibility of establishing a comprehensive cancer registry and directory in Kano State.

The proposed partnership between the Bureau of Statistics, Cancer Center, and AMG Foundation is expected to strengthen the state’s capacity to combat cancer and address the various challenges it poses to public health.

Dr. Aliyu said that the collaboration would enhance efforts in collecting and analyzing cancer-related data, ensuring improved planning, prevention, and treatment strategies in the fight against cancer in Kano State.

Dr. Garba appreciated Dr. Aliyu’s efforts on this milestone step for the ministry and the AMG Foundation, which has been tirelessly supporting and engaging with organizations that fight cancer in society.

He expressed his commitment to embarking on this journey for the development of the state.
