Bade/Jakusko Lawmaker facilitates training of artisans in fishery, poultry production

Determined to improve the economy of his constituents, the Federal House of Representatives member for Bade/Jakusko constituency Hassan K. Jakduwa (IBN Jaks) has facilitated a training for 250 Persons across his Constituency in areas of Fishery and Poultry Farming.
The Training which took place at Saleh Suleiman Event Center, Gashua, Yobe State was a one day intensive training on fishery and poultry farming which was facilitated by Malam. Haruna Mamman, a renowned fishery expert in the region and Malam Musa Mustapha a livestock expert. The Training was declared open by Malam Salisu Jawi who represented the RT. Hon, Jakduwa at the event and gave his opening remarks.
He said “As expressed by RT. Honorable Hassan K. Jakduwa (IBN Jaks), the objective behind training 250 individuals in fishery and poultry is to alleviate poverty in the region and empower them to be self-reliant. The provision of a capital of 30,000 naira is intended to facilitate the prompt initiation of income-generating activities for the beneficiaries.”
According to him, the 250 Participants were drawn across the 20 electoral Wards under Bade/Jakusko Federal Constituency which cut across various age groups and Gender. Participants were trained/taught the general knowledge of fishery and poultry farming, the things they need to know and steps to take before they start their fish and poultry farm, how to invest in their fish and poultry farm with realistic expectations of profits and different types/methods of fish and poultry farming. They were also taught how to construct a fish pond and poultry farm and how to manage them effectively.
At the end of training, the 250 Participant were given N30,000 each as start up capital.
The Training is expected to impact and improve the livelihood of the participants and increase economic activities within the Constituency. It is also expected to encourage self-dependency and reduce poverty.
In a vote of thanks, one of the participants who gave her name as Hauwa Saleh expressed gratitude and commended the effort the Lawmaker for the capacity building and prayed for more engagements of the constituents in arears of different skills. He also prayed for the success of the Honorable Member. Malam Usman Abdullahi also expressed gratitude for the successful completion of the training and urged participants to utilize the knowledge obtained at the training.
Similarly, the Lawmaker Hassan K. Jakduwa facilitated the distribution of 1260 (100kg) bags of Millet (420 bags), Maize (420 bags) and Guinea Corn (420 bags). He also facilitated the distribution of 275 bags (100kg) of Beans Seedling and 275 bags (50kg) of N.P.K. 15.15.15 respectively. All these were distributed across the 20 Wards of Bade/Jakusko Federal Constituency with beneficiaries drawn from various house heads including Widows, physically challenged and various Groups/Associations,.
