His Excellency, the Deputy Governor of Kano State, Alhaji Murtala Sule Garo, appears to be cultivating a leadership culture that extends beyond administration into human connection, a quality increasingly rare within the architecture of public office.
Barely days into office, subtle but meaningful impressions have already begun to form around his style of engagement with those who work closely around him. Within official circles, conversations are no longer centred solely on authority or political presence, but on a leadership disposition marked by simplicity, attentiveness, and unusual consideration for people regardless of rank.
In the often demanding atmosphere of government service, it is easy for human concerns to become secondary. Yet, there exists around His Excellency an environment where effort is acknowledged, welfare is quietly considered, and those behind the scenes are treated with visible dignity. Such gestures may never make headlines, but they shape morale, loyalty, and the spirit with which service is rendered.
What stands out most is the humility with which he carries responsibility. There is no exaggerated distance between office and humanity. For many of us privileged to serve under this administration, the experience has already inspired renewed enthusiasm, deeper commitment, and optimism for the years ahead.
If the opening days are anything to judge by, Kano may very well be witnessing the emergence of a remarkably people-conscious deputy governorship, one whose impact may ultimately be measured not only by political accomplishments, but by the lasting impressions left on those who serve closest to the system.
