Birnin Kudu LG Chairman Empowers 170 on Agribusiness

The Birnin Kudu Local Government in Jigawa State has provided land and agricultural inputs to over 170 youths engaged in agribusiness.

At a ceremony held to mark the end of the farming cycle, the Local Government Council Chairman, Muhammad Uba, said the program involved land preparation and wheat cultivation, after which the farms were handed over to the beneficiaries for irrigation and maintenance.

According to Uba, beneficiaries received either half or a quarter hectare of land, depending on capacity, and were given N50,000 each to assist with harvesting expenses.

He said the council plans to initiate a second phase of the program.

A beneficiary, Saidu Tanga, expressed appreciation for the support received and said the initiative had helped him and others engage in productive activities.
