BREAKING: Reps Request Suspension of Samoa Agreement Implementation
The House of Representatives has called on the federal government to suspend the implementation of the Samoa Agreement.
The House has also resolved to investigate the agreement, which was signed by the federal government on June 28.
The resolution was passed following the adoption of a motion of urgent public importance sponsored by Ali Sani Madaki, the Minority Whip, and 87 other lawmakers.
The agreement has recently sparked controversy due to reports that provisions related to lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) rights were included in the pact.
