CEO Aminu Takai Foundation urges economic relief amid fuel subsidy removal

Aminu Adam Takai, the Chairman and Founder of Aminu Takai and Innovation Support, has expressed his disappointment over the prevailing economic challenges gripping the nation, a situation ignited by the withdrawal of fuel subsidies.

Speaking out about the distressing state of affairs, Adamu lamented, “This distress has reached an unbearable level. It is truly disheartening that in a nation like Nigeria, a prominent oil producer, citizens are grappling with the repercussions of a callous hike in fuel prices.”

Adamu adamantly appealed to the President, urging him to reconsider his course of action and alleviate the country’s anguish brought about by these circumstances.

Moreover, the chairman criticized President Bola Tinubu’s proposal to allocate ₦8,000 to 12 million households over six months, dismissing it as nothing more than a jest.

He also rebuffed the idea of increasing civil servant salaries, deeming it unsustainable due to the significant number of individuals outside of government payrolls.

In an exclusive interview, Aminu conveyed his call to action for Kano state’s Governor and other key stakeholders to invest substantially in the creative industry.

He fervently believes this sector possesses immense potential and is poised to provide viable employment opportunities for over 100 million young people, effectively rescuing them from unemployment.

The Nigeria Bureau of Statistics has positioned the nation’s creative industry as the second-largest employer, with a promising potential to generate a staggering 2.7 million new jobs by 2025. In Adamu’s words, “Following the agricultural sector, the creative sector stands as Nigeria’s second-largest employer of labor.”

Adamu concluded the discussion by asserting the significance of education in individuals’ lives, urging parents to wholeheartedly encourage their children to pursue schooling. In his eyes, education remains an integral cornerstone of a prosperous society.
