The Emir of Daura, Alhaji Dr. Umar Farouq, has called on former Presidential Candidate of the New Nigeria People’s Party Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, to continue offering valuable advice to the federal government in light of the current challenges faced by ordinary Nigerians.
The Emir made the call during a condolence visit paid by Senator Kwankwaso alongside Kano State Deputy Governor, Comrade Aminu Abdussalam Gwarzo, to the Daura Emirate and Katsina State over the passing of the late former President Muhammadu Buhari.
The Emir urged Senator Kwankwaso to maintain his leadership role by providing wise counsel that would contribute to Nigeria’s progress.
He recalled how Kwankwaso had been the first person to confer an honorary doctorate degree on him and had frequently invited him to Kano for project inaugurations during his tenure as governor of Kano State, with some projects even named after him.
The Emir also reflected on the deep relationship he shared with Kwankwaso’s late father, describing it as more than friendship but true brotherhood.
He described Kwankwaso’s condolence visit as a clear demonstration of respect for the late President Buhari.
Paying tribute to the former President, the Emir described Buhari as a man of honesty and integrity, expressing hope that by the grace of Allah, he would be admitted into Aljannah Firdausi.
The Emir also conveyed his warm wishes to Senator Kwankwaso, noting that out of respect, he would have knelt before him if not for the cultural traditions of the emirate.
Earlier in his remarks, Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso explained that his visit was to extend his condolences to the people of Nigeria, Katsina State, and the Daura Emirate over the loss of the former President.
He offered prayers for the repose of Buhari’s soul and expressed appreciation for the Emir’s constant guidance and fatherly advice throughout his political journey.
Kwankwaso also prayed for the Emir’s good health and long life, while expressing hope for the restoration of peace and unity in Daura, Katsina State, and across Northern Nigeria.

In a related development, Sen. Kwankwaso and Kano Deputy Governor visited the residence of late President Buhari to pay condolence to his family and relatives over the irreparable loss.
The delegation equally visited the graveside of the late President and offered prayers to the departed leader.
