Democracy Day: Gov. Mutfwang commissions projects urging patriotism

To commemorate the 2025 Democracy Day celebration, Plateau State Governor Caleb Mutfwang has Commissioned some projects, urging for more patriotism from the Plateau people.

The events which took place on Thursday in Jos included the commisioning of Fifteen new metro buses, a Paediatric laboratory complex at the Plateau specialist hospital, the Utonkon bridge construction and an administrative block complex at the Plateau State Polytechnic, Jos campus.

Mutfwang while elaborating on the efforts taken to establish the projects, urged the people of Plateau to maintain patriotism in the use of the facilities saying government will continue to do it’s own part.

He described the occasion as a very important occasion for him and thank God for making it a reality, adding that he is proud that he been able to key into the initiatives of President.

He however urged the people to be more patriotic in the use of the facilities, and uphold the culture of maintenance for the good and the future generation.

Earlier, some government officials who spoke at the event, commended the governor for demonstrating the culture of accountability in governance, they applauded his efforts and urged the people of Plateau to ensure maintenance of the facilities for the good of all.

Jim Wayas, Chairman Plateau Internal Revenue Service (PIRS) said the transport sector alone had recorded over N2 billion in the previous year’s IGR, commending the governor for the improvement in the sector and the overall economy of the state.

Similarly, Ubandoma Laven the State’s Commissioner for Works commended the Governor for the developments in the state, urging the people to uphold a good culture of maintenance of the facilities.

The Commissioners for Transport and Health Davou Jatau and Nicholas Baamlong who spoke separetely during the event also commended the governor for exemplifying good leadership through the visible developments seen in the state.

Our correspondent reports that the famous Jarawa dancers made the event very colorful. Traditional rulers, party stalwarts, youths for Mutfwang, heads of MDAs, and others stakeholders were in attendance.
