Yusuf Abubakar Dingyadi, Senior Special Assistant on Media to the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda, has attributed the gradual improvement in Nigeria’s security situation to the Federal Government’s deployment of modern security equipment and increased use of non-kinetic strategies.
Dingyadi stated this in a statement issued on Monday, saying the Federal Government had continued to prioritise efforts to address insecurity across the country.
He described insecurity as one of Nigeria’s major challenges but maintained that ongoing military operations and other strategic interventions were producing encouraging results, particularly in the North-West, where banditry has remained a major concern.
According to him, states including Zamfara, Kaduna, Kebbi, Katsina and Sokoto have witnessed intensified security operations aimed at protecting lives and property, while restoring normalcy in affected communities.
He said despite the persistence of terrorism, banditry and other violent crimes, the Federal Government and security agencies had remained committed to tackling the situation through coordinated operations, intelligence gathering and non-kinetic measures.
Dingyadi expressed optimism that the country would overcome its security challenges, urging Nigerians to remain patient, support security agencies and continue praying for lasting peace.
He also condemned the activities of criminal informants, describing them as a major obstacle to security operations, while cautioning against the politicisation of security issues.
The APC media aide further called for stronger synergy among security agencies to enhance the fight against criminality across the country.
He commended the Minister of State for Defence, Dr. Bello Matawalle, for what he described as his commitment to ongoing efforts to combat insecurity nationwide.
According to Dingyadi, Matawalle demonstrated dedication to protecting lives and property during his tenure as Governor of Zamfara State and has continued to contribute to national security in his current position.
He said the minister, alongside other defence officials, was working tirelessly to strengthen the country’s security architecture and improve public safety.
Dingyadi appealed to political leaders, opposition parties and Nigerians to support the nation’s security personnel in their efforts to defeat insurgency, banditry and other forms of criminality.
He also urged state governors to intensify efforts to address insecurity while ensuring the provision of basic social services, good governance and fairness to the people.
On party affairs, Dingyadi commended the APC National Working Committee under the leadership of Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda for promoting reconciliation, unity and internal cohesion within the ruling party despite challenges following the party’s congresses.
He expressed confidence that the APC would continue to deliver on its promises and consolidate the achievements of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda if returned to power in the 2027 general elections.
