Edo Killings: Bring Perpetrators To Book Now – Kano Edo Community

The Edo Community in Kano State has urged the Federal Government to bring to justice the killers of 16 travelers in Uromi,Edo State, as soon as possible.
The President of the community, Dr Patric Agba, made the call at a news conference in Kano on Saturday.
It strongly condemned the brutal killings, describing them as brutal.
The victims, who were predominantly hunters from northern Nigeria, were ambushed by a vigilance group and armed youths on March 27, 2025.
The community also described the incident as unfortunate and expressed solidarity with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Governor Monday Okpehbolo of Edo State in condemning the barbaric act.
It sympathized with the Kano State Government, the families of the victims, and all Nigerians over the incident.
Agba emphasized that Edo people are peace-loving and do not align themselves with those who participate in such sad incidents.
In his reactions,the Sarki Edo in Kano, Don Fred Akhigbe,also said that Edo people are peace-loving citizens who live harmoniously with all Nigerians.
“We see what had happened in Uromi as an afront to the unity of the country and we don’t accept it.It is illegal and stands condemnable. We call on the Government to ensure that justice is done accordingly,” Akhigbe said.
He commended President President Tinubu and the Edo State Governor, Monday Okpebholo for their swift reaction on the matter, noting that the leaders’ positions would go along way in ensuring peace and harmony among Nigerians.
The incident has sparked widespread outrage, with many condemning the “jungle justice” that led to the brutal killings.
The police have arrested 14 suspects in connection with the incident, and an investigation is ongoing.
The Kano State Government has also condemned the killings, calling for an immediate, thorough, and transparent investigation into the incident.
