Ex-PDP Kano Deputy Governorship Candidate Yusuf Bello Danbatta Defects To APC

The People’s Democratic Party(PDP) Deputy Governorship Candidate in the 2023 general elections in Kano State,Dr. Yusuf Bello Danbatta,has defected to the All Progressives Congress(APC).
Danbatta’s defection is contained in a Formal Notification circulated to journalists in Kano in Friday.
“I hereby formally announce my decision to join the All Progressives Congress (APC).
This decision was taken after careful consideration and wide consultations with my leaders, political associates, supporters, and stakeholders.
“I am convinced that the APC provides a more suitable platform for me to contribute effectively to the advancement of our people and the development of our state and the nation at large,” Danbatta said.
He stated that he was particulary and deeply inspired by the visionary leadership of His Excellency, Gov. Abba Kabir Yusuf, and the transformative Kano First Agenda, which he said, had demonstrated a clear commitment to good governance, human capital development, infrastructure renewal, and the overall progress of Kano State.
“I am equally motivated by the growing spirit of inclusiveness within the APC, the party’s commitment to the welfare of the people, and the opportunity to contribute more effectively to the advancement of our state and nation.
“As I rejoin my political family, I reaffirm my unwavering commitment to the service of the people, the promotion of unity, and the pursuit of policies and programmes that will enhance peace, prosperity, and sustainable development.
“I sincerely wish to extend my appreciation to members and leaders of the PDP for the relationships, support and experiences shared over the years, and I look forward to working with members of the APC and all well-meaning citizens in support of the Kano First Agenda and the continued development of our dear state,” the statement added.
