Faith Leaders to Converge in Kaduna for Interfaith Dialogue

From Abdullahi Alhassan, Kaduna

In a bid to promote religious harmony and peace, faith leaders from across the state are set to converge in Kaduna for the inaugural Kaduna Interfaith Dialogue (KID) on May 2, 2024.

Organized by Search for Common Ground Nigeria (SFCGN) in collaboration with other stakeholders, the event aims to foster understanding, tolerance, and unity among people of different religions.

The Kaduna Network of Peace Journalists (NPJ) has launched a media campaign urging all faith leaders to participate in the workshop, which seeks to promote religious tolerance, peace, and unity in the state.

According to Comrade Ibrahima Yakubu, Team Lead of NPJ, “This workshop offers a pivotal opportunity for religious leaders to strengthen relations and offer solutions to mitigate future crises related to ethno-religious tensions.”

The KID provides a platform for individuals from various religious backgrounds to engage in respectful and empathetic conversations, share beliefs, values, and experiences, and foster genuine understanding.

The event is a beacon of hope for a more harmonious and interconnected world, where diverse beliefs can coexist in peace and cooperation.

Scheduled for May 2, 2024, the KID marks a crucial step towards promoting harmony and cooperation in Kaduna and beyond.
