Farmers Voice NG Launches Maiden Print Edition with Symposium in Kano

Farmers Voice NG, a leading digital platform focused on agriculture and rural development reporting in Nigeria, is set to unveil its maiden print edition on Wednesday, May 21, 2025, at the Federal College of Agriculture and Produce Technology, Kano.

The eventwill feature a symposium themed “They Feed the Nation, but Who’s Listening? Why Farmers Should Make Headlines.”

According to a statement from the editorial office of Farmers Voice NG, the event is “a clear call to give voice to those who till the land, grow our food, and sustain our markets not just in policy discussions or specialized publications, but on the front pages and in the main headlines.”

The symposium will bring together notable voices from the media, academia, and the agricultural sector to reflect on how Nigerian farmers  who form the backbone of the country’s food supply are represented in mainstream media.

It will be chaired by Professor Musa Tukur Yakasai, Vice Chancellor of Aliko Dangote University of Science and Technology, Wudil, and will feature speakers including Dr. Gambo S. Nababa of Bayero University Kano, Dr. Isah Nasidi of Baze University Abuja, Malam Ibrahim Musa Gingiyu of Daily Trust, and Maryam Mohammed of Maryam Abacha American University, Kano.

The launch of the print edition marks a significant step forward for Farmers Voice NG, building on its digital achievements and reinforcing its commitment to telling the stories of smallholder farmers, agripreneurs, rural women, herders, and farm workers across Nigeria.

Members of the media, civil society groups, farmer associations, students, policymakers, and the general public are invited to attend and support this important national conversation.
