FG to complete Greater Dutse Water supply Project in 2024

The team of federal Ministry of Water Resources arrived Jigawa state with aims to supervise the greater Dutse Water supply Project for continuation.

The professional team led by Deputy Director Urban water supply and Sanitation, engineer Abu Hassan announced the move when the team paid a courtesy visit to state governor on Tuesday at government house Dutse.

He explained that, the team is in Jigawa to represent honourable Minister Federal ministry of water resources engineer professor Joseph Terlumun Utsev on two major issues.

The deputy director said, the first purpose of the visit is to paid visit to the governor and to request his permission to interact with his professional team and look at designs already made for the project at state level.

Engineer Abu Hassan maintained that, the team will also look at proposed water supply sources and existing facilities with view of improving on it after gathering all the needed information and estimated cost and design a report which will be submitted to minister.

“The letter was written to federal Ministry of Water resources for the inclusion of Greater Dutse Water supply Project in the year 2024 proposed budget, and the request was granted by the honourable Minister, therefore we are delight to inform you that the project is inline items of federal Ministry of Water resources 2024budget”, he said.

While responding to the team, governor Umar Namadi thanks federal Ministry of Water resources for including the project into their 2024 budget adding that provision of adequate water supply in Dutse capital is of the major target of his administration.

“We have being doing our best to get additional funds for the project as we achieved a milestone, I personally meet president Bola Ahmed Tinubu on the issue, and remind him that, Dutse Water supply Project is one of his campaign promises to late emir of Dutse, the president acknowledged and asked me to write a request letter which I did and I’m sure it will be another source of finding the project” ,The governor said.
