Former Zero Party Kano LG Chairmen extend full support to NNPP-led Kano Govt

A group of former Kano State Local Government Chairmen, who were elected on a Zero-Party basis in 1996, have officially pledged their unwavering support to the NNPP Kano State Government, led by Alh. Abba Kabir Yusuf.

In a remarkable show of solidarity, seventeen out of the remaining 24 Chairmen visited the Kano Government House to express their commitment to the Deputy Governor, Comr. Aminu Abdulsalam Gwarzo, who himself was elected as one of Kano’s 34 Local Government Chairmen in 1996.

Speaking on behalf of the Chairmen, Malam Kabiru Gwangwazo, emphasized their determination to provide unwavering assistance, invaluable advice, and steadfast support to the Kano Government. He expressed their immense pride in having one of their own serving as the Deputy Governor.

Deputy Governor Gwarzo warmly acknowledged and thanked the Chairmen for their resolute support. He recalled the shared history they hold, having been elected through transparent direct elections in 1996.

Gwarzo also assured the Chairmen of his commitment to maintain open lines of communication with the “Class of 1996 Zero Party” and humbly requested their prayers for the government and its leadership.

The Chairmen, exhibiting great confidence in the new Kano State Government, unveiled their plans to submit a series of innovative ideas and constructive suggestions to the Deputy Governor.

They conveyed heartfelt remembrance of the deceased members of their group and offered prayers for their departed souls.

It is worth noting that many of the 1996 Zero Party LG Chairmen continue to play active and influential roles in Kano politics, including within the NNPP Kwankwasiyya movement.
