UPDATE: Girl with cancer receives life-changing hospital transfer by Hon. Abdulmumin Jibrin Kofa

Abdulmumin Jibrin Kofa, a member representing Kiru/Bebeji Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, after a meeting with Fatima Shu’aibu and her parents earlier this week at his Kano residence, immediately proceeded to the village of the young girl with a combined team of medical doctors who examined and recommended what urgently needed to be done.

According to his media aide Sani Ibrahim Paki, Fatima was immediately moved to a medical hospital UMC Zhahir that has facilities to deal with the case.

She was diagnosed with Severe NECROTIZING ULCERATIVE STOMATITIS (CANCRUM ORIS), instead of the cancer people thought she was battling initially.

According to the CMD of the hospital, Dr Aminu Garba, the procedure of her treatment will include debridement of dead tissues, reconstruction of central defects (upper lip and nose), and reconstruction of cheeks, lower lip and corner of the mouth. Lastly, prosthetic rehabilitation of leftover defects.

Recall that Hon Jibrin has promised to offset all the medical bills of the five-year-old Fatima and provide upkeep for her family until her full recovery.

In keeping with this promise, the doctors are now on top of her situation and have given assurance that her face will be substantially restored upon successful completion of the processes and surgery.
